German processing technology for textiles, as well as components and software enjoys a tremendous reputation on the international market. The reasons for this lie in the consistently high quality of the technology and its flexible deployment, along with the technological advantage over the competition. The German sewing and garment technology sector combines the latest aspects of environmental and resources conservation with superlative productivity and flexibility.
For Asia in particular - where the majority of worldwide garment production takes place - taking productivity, flexibility and conservation of resources into account is crucial for success. Customers from Europe and North America especially are becoming increasingly alert regarding the adherence to guidelines for environment- and resources-conserving production in manufacturing countries, not least since such practices harbour a significant competitive advantage.
German manufacturers of sewing and garment technology exported machinery and systems worth Euro 394 million (Euro 458 million in 2007) worldwide in 2008. This ranks Germany as the third most important supplier nation of sewing and garment technology, after the PR China with its export volume of Euro 1.1 billion (Euro 1.2 billion in 2007) and Japan with Euro 580 million (Euro 785 million in 2007).
Visitors to CISMA 2009 are warmly invited to visit the official German Group Participation Stand and use the opportunity to foster an intensive exchange of information and experiences in order to be fully prepared for the forthcoming anticipated economic upturn.
The German Group Participation Stand, which is located in hall W1, booth number M09, Shanghai New International Expo Centre, is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economics and Technology in collaboration with AUMA - Association of the German Trade Fair Industry.
