The Chinese Cashmere Council and some famous cashmere manufacturers have proposed to hold China (Beijing) International Cashmere Fair to promote and develop domestic cashmere brands and raise the standards of the concerned industry.
The event will take place from November 1 to 4 in Beijing City.
Although China occupies nearly 93 percent of the global cashmere raw materials, over 80 percent of the products made in the country belong to international brands.
On the other hand, while the export quantity of Chinese cashmere products is very high, the export profits remain marginal. In the first eight months of this year, China exported cashmere products worth US $917 million.
Reports show, that of 16,000 tons of cashmere produced in the world, a total of 12,000 tons is produced by China alone. It is therefore not surprising that China boasts of having over 2,000 cashmere enterprises.
